How it all started...
“To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven”. Ecclesiastes 3:1
Bible study was held in the home of Minister Mitchell Way every Monday night for one hour. Souls began to catch hold of faith and tarry service would follow in the basement. Many were saved and filled with the power of the Holy Ghost. A building was needed to house God’s people.
It wasn’t long that God showed Minister Mitchell Way a building which had been vacant for more than 5 years. The building was condemned and infested with the aftermath of sin. In man’s eyes, devastation, but with God all things are possible. During construction, many souls witnessed the love of God through prayer, clothing and food. “For I was and hungered and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye game me drink, I was a stranger, and ye took me in”. “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me”. Matthew 25:35, 40b.
We had our first prayer service in the oval room area of the condemned building. There was no running water or bathroom facility. To the saints, it was everything, for God always met us there. Regardless of the conditions that were there, we saw God move miraculously through personal sacrifice and much prayer, provide all our needs.
